Computational Fluid Dynamics

We have decades of experience with CFD and its applications to a wide range of thermal and energy problems. We have worked with many academic and commercial CFD codes - we truly understand their strengths and limitations.

Maritime

Future ships will need new propulsion systems and fuels. We have worked with various stakeholders in the shipping sector and we can help with optimisation, propulsion system design, pollutant dispersion, and Health & Safety issues. We are conversant in hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels and carbon capture, to name a few options.

Combustion

Gas turbines, reciprocating engines, furnaces and boilers need new developments for the fuels that we must use in a decarbonised world. Our unique experience in modelling and experimenting with flames has helped a large number of industries. We can be a trusted partner in any fuel-related development project.

Wildfires

We have developed the world’s most accurate and computationally efficient wildfire propagation model for Wildland-Urban Interface fires. This can be coupled with Command & Control tools for decision support by firefighting authorities. We also develop tools for preventive design of cities and neighbourhoods to minimise the risk of fires.

Ventilation

We have developed a new ventilation concept, the Personalised Displacement Ventilation. It offers healthier offices, surgeries, schools and cinemas, to give a few examples. We can help you design your ventilation project so as to minimise energy consumption and disease transmission risk.
